So digg and reddit have both posted on the work of Stu Nichols and his pure CSS photo gallery. Check it out: here. I’m anxious to try it out. I’d like to find a way to blend this image gallery with a liquid three column layout, but the gallery is fixed – so it may have to be implemented on an internal page. Although, it would be interesting to have this image gallery present on a home page – since before the hover it only takes up the room of a horizontal menu. I’ll be exploring this idea further – stay tuned.
Minishowcase: Ajax PhotoGallery
Check out this ajax photogallery: minishowcase. It’s lightweight, easy to customize, and a piece of cake to get up an running in no time. I removed the enormous Gallery2 from my server and replaced it with minishowcase. I lost the theming of Gallery 2, but minishowcase theming is on the way, and it wouldn’t take much to create your own from scratch. Download also included easy to customize .css file.
For now it is fully functional in its own page here, but I will intgrate it as time permits.
sessionswest.com
I officially launched the rebuild of sessionswest.com today. The official website of a great local guitarist/singer-songwriter Jeff Anderson, a.k.a. el Jefe, and his recording studio in Boerne, TX. El Jefe’s music is an eclectic fusion of southern blues, country, and gospel. Some refer to Jeff’s tunes as simply ‘good ol’ down home feel good music.’
His latest release, Shine, is an inspirational collection of tunes that will brighten even the gloomiest of days. Shine is featured in the audio player @ sessionswest.com. Head on over and give er’ a listen.
Features of the site include an audio player, custom video from Jeff’s studio, and a photo gallery. Stay tuned for updates and add-ons.

Gallery2 Plug-in for Wordpress
I installed and configured the gallery2 plug-in today for Wordpress 2.0. I used the classic gallery 2 theme with the zen minimalist wordpress theme. There were a few tricks to get things working.
First of all, you need to have url paths turned off in order for gallery to show images inside the wordpress theme. Also it may be necessary to set a minimum size for pictures to prevent a larger picture from breaking your page….obviously depending on the template that you use. Feel free to email me for help.
Electric Rivergrass
The sounds of the Original TRB – I updated the playlist in the flashplayer above to include some of the old recordings from the original Tuscarawas River Band. Stay tuned for an entire tribute section with audio, imagery, and special surprises from the ol’ days. After looking through a box that was stored away, I came across old tour schedules, pictures, and cds. There was even a disc of photographs by Dave Bayo from Danny’s Grill. I’m in the process of digitizing all of this material to include in the tribute section. In the meantime, enjoy the tunes on the flashplayer. There is even a high energy ‘Big River’ with Gus from the Juggling Suns on keys.

A New Web Presence
A new web presence, a new life. Hey…… maybe someday, someone will actually be interested in reading what I have to say. Actually I wil try to focus the content here more than I have in the past, but that would mean that I’d have to focus my interests. This is very difficult for me to do. So maybe I won’t.
This theme is based on Zen Minimilist, which I have always thought had potential, it just didn’t seem fully developed. With a little tweakin’ to the CSS – I have become very pleased with it.
The Digett Manifesto
From the first day I met Mark and Trevor, we began an ongoing, ever-evolving conversation about the vision of Digett. We all seem to have a common passion for all things web, yet even more interesting, we all seem to bring something truly unique to the table.
Anytime I get involved in an organization, a position, an entrepreneurial endeavor, a team, a band…it is as if I am programmed to automatically begin to develop a vision, a mission statement, a mantra, a business plan, a classroom philosophy, etc.
For Digett, I began to notice Mark’s almost reverance of the Cluetrain Manifesto and Benjamin Franklin.
My passion for the web really began to take off while managing the Tuscarawas River Band. It all clicked when I read a great book by Michael Levine called Guerilla Marketing. As a business, we patterned ourselves after bands like Phish and the String Cheese Incident: real, legitimate business people that provide authentic musical products and services to enormous followings that were powerfully built through grassroots virile word of mouth , and mobile marketing campaigns, a.k.a. living on the road. In my mind, these folks are genius business people – tackling one of the most difficult lines of work out there and becoming hugely successful at it. Anyone who has taken on the challenge of managing tour operations of an independent band knows that the casual, laid back public appearance of performing sharply contrasts the less glamorous, behind the scenes work that it takes to manage the beast. For many independent bands – life on the road menas little sleep, yet non-stop excitement.
I am big into Manifestos. I once sang about the Turner thesis I onced live by the Vountary Simplicity mantras of the Earth First! Manifesto.
Before that I followed the TEAM philosophies of Coach Willis Wilson at Rice Uninversity, and even earlier than that I led a team of slow white boy misfits to the AAU national Championship following what our fearless coach Robert Johnson called the G.A.T.A philosophy. (Get After Their Arse)
Soon following it was MSCE(Mulit Sensual Color Explosions) a Post Modern School of Thought, and then onto the dynamic TRB business model.
Next, it was onto Portable2b.com: A teaching philosophy that involves teacher content management systems, student-centered classrooms, paperless-multimedia assignments with an emphasis on creativity, differentiated instruction for various learning styles, assessments that validate the existence of multiple intelligences, and the extensive use of instructional technologies and the world wide web.
I have come up with an idea for what I have coined ‘Manifesto Meetings.’ I am proposing a regular meeting in which members of the organization add content in the form of to the Manifesto through the use of a public blogpost.

Enchanted Breakfast Part Deux: A Little CSN, and Interactive Marketing
I posted last week on our enchanted breakfast email campaign. Well, today we finished up part 2. Trevor once again pulled off his flash magic, doubling up on Graham Nash, while Mark took on the role of Stephen Stills. I did my best David Crosby. Sorry Mr. Crosby, I tried. So…if you haven’t heard, we are in a sense celebrating the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young account. As expected… we are excited to take on the task of serving our new clients.
I have been wanting to document my thoughts on my ideas of participation in interactive marketing projects.
